Aimee & Michael June 20, 2014
An elaborate plan with the details meticulously in place and all of this quietly kept to himself. Michael Smith pulled it off without Aimee having any idea what he was up to.
“Michael blindfolded me and walked me down a path on the edge of the ocean. When the blindfold came off there were roses place all around me. An airplane seemed to be flying by pretty low so you couldn’t help but look up,” Aimee told us.
The aerial fly-by had a banner that said, “Aimee Lynn Hetzel will you MARRY ME?” The famous path along the ocean was the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine. And…she said YES!
After their engagement Aimee and Mike began attending bridal shows. They became everyone’s favorite couple. Aimee tossed the bouquet at one bridal show, they cut the cake at another show and they can be seen in one of our bridal show videos feeding each other wedding cake. They became such a popular couple at bridal shows, many of the wedding professionals knew them or someone in their family and partially because she’s a Hetzel. Aimee’s Dad is Jimmy Hetzel, the youngest in a long line of siblings, mostly girls, who have been attending our bridal shows with generations of their daughters and sons. Some have been at bridal shows modeling bridal gowns for us and some have even worked the front registration table at bridal shows for us! Needless to say, and I’m sure you’d agree, we all know and love a Hetzel or 2 or 3!
Aimee and Mike knew that the ceremony would be at the Pittsford Congregational Church so the reception would need to be nearby. The Holiday Inn was chosen and I remember them telling me that Aimee had some creative and great ideas to brand her reception. Dellveneri’s Bakery made their delicious wedding cake and they did do their tasting at a bridal show. Their beautiful flowers were designed by Lois Acinapura of Floral Impressions and their DJ was Patrick Bergeron of Metro Music. Their amazing photographs were taken by Sherry Lynne Photography from Albany, NY.
Aimee and Mike would like to say a special thank you to Anita and the entire staff at the Holiday Inn Rutland/Killington!
Aimee and Mike reside very happily in Rutland, Vermont.
